It’s a Grinch who stole debit cards, broke into vehicles, police say

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Elvis Andrade, 32, on multiple charges related to a series of vehicle break-ins and credit card thefts in Stoughton, police said. the Stoughton Police Department. He was identified on December 13 and police are looking for him. He is wanted on five active warrants for his arrest.

Andrade is charged with larceny over $1,200, misuse of a credit card over $1,200, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, breaking and entering a vehicle in the daytime with intent to commit a felony (eight counts) , theft under $1,200 (four counts), improper use of a credit card under $1,200 (two counts), and malicious destruction of property under $1,200, police said.

Police said they went to an apartment complex on Buckley Road around 10:43 a.m. on Dec. 11 after receiving a report of a vehicle that had been broken into overnight.

A Stoughton resident told police his wallet had been stolen from his car, police said. The person’s debit card was used at CVS and Speedway, which were located in Brockton.

There was another vehicle theft at the apartment complex on Dec. 4, police said. One person said his wallet was stolen and his debit card was used at a CVS.

Surveillance video showed a man wearing Grinch pajamas, later identified as Andrade, using a stolen debit card in Stoughton, police said. The same man was suspected of vehicle theft and credit card fraud at an Avon Walmart.

Andrade was also linked to a vehicle theft on Dec. 1, another vehicle theft and credit card fraud on Dec. 4 and a vehicle theft on Dec. 9, police said.

Police asked that anyone with information on Andrade’s whereabouts call Stoughton police at 781-344-2424.
