Hitchins will destroy Parr’s game plan in the IBF Title Clash

Richardson Hitchins is ready to take apart the game plan that IBF 140lb champion Liam Parro and his trainer have devised for their fight this Saturday. Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs) already knows what Paro (25-0, 15 KOs) will try to do against him, and he will adapt to that by using his boxing skills to show that he is at his level.

Paro will defend against Hitchins on Saturday, December 7, at Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The event will be displayed live on DAZN.

Hitchins, 27, says Paro’s recent win over IBF champion Surbriel Matias was made easier because he was fighting guys with an identical style. Therefore, it was not a big problem for him to solve the pressure that Matias was putting on him.

“How excited are you to realize you have a chance to become world champion on Saturday night?” Eddie Hearn told Richardson Hitchins during today’s final press conference for his title fight against IBF 140lb champion Liam Parro this Saturday night.

“It’s definitely a surreal moment. It’s not as surprising as it was when I first signed with you. “When I first signed with you, I always thought I was looking forward to my first title fight and what it would be like,” said Richardson Hitchins.

“Now that I’m more experienced in the sport, I’m showing that I’m at the world title level since I first signed with you. I always went into a fight in shape. I have always shown that I am a versatile fighter.

“I was on the world stage. Now it’s time to show the world that this is the only place I belong. I feel that my type of boxing will be accepted anywhere but on the world stage. I’m not the type where you’ll see my fights on club shows. I belong at this stage, next to Eddie Hearn, I fight the best fighters because that’s the talent I bring to the sport.

“Saturday night, I’m going to show it again,” Hitchins said.

“You always talk about your levels above your opponents. Do you also believe your levels above Liam Parro?” Hearn told Hitchins. “He’s also coming off an amazing win. I know you respect him, but do you believe you’re too good for him?”

“I respect Liam Parro because he treats the sport like a professional. He comes prepared. “He does everything he needs to do as a professional, but when it comes to the world stage, I don’t believe he has the tools that I have,” Hitchins said.

“The fight with Matthias, I told him earlier during the showdown, he fought guys like that before they came forward. A lot of the guys he fought were the ones who came out and applied pressure. He fought a Japanese who applied the same pressure as Matthias. He and his coach said: ‘We’re going to box rounds.’ So they had their game plan for Matias.

“For me, their approach is completely different. You here, Liam says, he’s going to piss me off,” Hitchins said.
