Then there were many frustrations the Celtics lost to the Bulls on Thursday at their home court, and after that, C’s manager Joe Mazzulla has been fined from that game. The NBA announced Saturday that Mazzulla has been fined $35,000 for “aggressively stalking and directing inappropriate language” at an official after Thursday’s game.
The fourth quarter was the undoing of the Celtics, who lost their composure down the stretch. They were evaluated three technical fouls in the fourth quarterone each to Mazzulla, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. After the match, Mazzulla had to be restrained by staff members as he had some choice words for the referees. He had a humorous response after the game when he asked going after the officials.

“I haven’t seen them in a while, so just a Merry Christmas, happy holidays,” Mazzulla said. “I wasn’t sure I was going to see them before the holidays, and I can’t pass up a moment to wish someone the best for them and theirs and their families.”
The NBA didn’t see it that way, as Mazzulla stormed after the game. Mazzulla and Brown’s first two technicals came off the same play on a jump ball call. Brown thought he should have been on the jump ball instead of Payton Pritchard.
Afterwards, Mazzulla received a technician because he was not supposed to be on the court. Brown was then evaluated as a technician, which he vocally disagreed with after the game. The two technicians also changed the dynamics of the game. The C’s were down three at the time, but after two free throws and a 3-pointer for the Bulls, the deficit ballooned to eight in a matter of seconds. The Celtics never recovered as they lost Thursday’s game.
The Celtics will look to bounce back they face the Bulls again Saturday at 8 PM Chicago. So they can get revenge after losing on the home court.
