Pickleball project at Whalley Park will have to wait

SOUTHWICK – While the Parks and Recreation Commission last month applied to the Community Preservation Committee for $670,000 to build six pickleball courts at Whalley Park, the CPC announced Wednesday that the request was not complete and would not be included as an article. for the authorization of the next Extraordinary Meeting of the City Council.

“We have a project request. We don’t have a request for the pickleball courts at Whalley Park at this time,” CPC Chairman Christopher Pratt announced during the committee’s meeting Wednesday.

Committee member John Whalley III, who joined the meeting remotely later and during a discussion of the CPC articles, asked why the pickleball proposal was not included in the order.
