SPRINGFIELD – Assault charges against retired Massachusetts State Police Capt. Brian Gladu have been dismissed after a trial failed to start last week.
The main witness against Gladu refused to testify.
A spokesman for the Massachusetts State Police said previously Gladu retired on March 16, 2023, a week after the 27-year-old West Springfield resident obtained a temporary restraining order from a judge. When he retired with the rank of captain, Gladu was the subject of three internal affairs investigations, the spokesman said.
