Arsenal download Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in Carabao Cup quarter-finals this evening as they seek a second major trophy under Bos Mikel Arteta.
The Spaniard led the Gunners to the 2020 FA Cup trophy at the end of his debut season as manager and has since improved the team to become contenders for the Premier League title. More silverware will be the perfect reward for their development, but Arsenal go into the match with momentum.
Their last two away games in the Premier League ended in a draw with Fulham and Everton so they are unlikely to underestimate Crystal Palace, especially as Oliver Glasner’s side are on an upward trajectory.
Palace sit 15th in the league after a poor start to the season, but they have managed big away win at Brighton at the weekend and are unbeaten in five league games including a 2-2 draw against Manchester City. Is their form good enough to beat Arsenal tonight?

They applied a lot of pressure from that Sterling chance, and it finally paid off.
Odegaard picks up the ball on the right and drifts inside, spotting Jesus’ diagonal run and releasing him with a brilliant diagonal pass.
The Brazilian has the touch to get past the defender, and scores a successful finish past the onrushing Henderson to make it 1-1.

It’s a great move from Arsenal, who take it across the pitch to Tierney on the left. Plays in a great early cross that finds its way to Sterling, who is unmarked at the back post.
He’s 6 yards out and his first shot is a tame shot straight at Henderson. It bounces right back at him but he breaks it up, kicks him some more, and it goes high and bounces off the underside of the crossbar!
Moments later, Merino lets fly from distance but drags it wide.

It was quite an entertaining half for the neutrals at the Emirates, with both sides threatening and Palace’s early goal adding plenty of intrigue.
Both sides were disjointed in attack from the opener, with no real chances of note, but plenty of openings appear in every defence.
The hosts have everything to do as the second half begins.
