Elton John says new music is coming: ‘The juices have never dried up’



Elton John says new material could be coming, although the legendary entertainer previously wasn’t sure if he’ll be able to make music next lose sight in one eye earlier this year.

The “Rocket Man” singer. appeared on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday, December 17 to promote his new documentary “Elton John: Never too late.”

During the conversation, John reflected on his retirement from touring last year, but assured fans that he would continue to make music.

“You’ll get a little more [music],” John told Colbert.

“The juices have never dried up. They never want to dry up because I’m always looking to create things. I just have the space now to do it in my own time,” he said. “Of course there will be new music from Elton John.”

John, 77, revealed aa GMA interview last month he lost the sight in his right eye after contracting an infection in July.

“It’s been four months now that I haven’t been able to see him,” the iconic musician told ABC News’ Robin Roberts.

This came after Roberts asked the “Crocodile Rock” singer about the status of a new album she mentioned to him at her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction last year.

“I don’t know,” John replied. “I haven’t done anything in a while.”

John went on to say that his lack of vision has prevented him from making music because he “can’t see any lyrics to begin with.”

“It’s kind of figured me out,” John said. “I can’t see anything. I can’t read anything. I can’t see anything.”

The “Candle in the Wind” singer revealed. Instagram in September that he was dealing with a “severe eye infection” that left him with “limited” vision in one eye.

John said he was on the mend, but it has been an “extremely slow process and it will be some time before sight returns to the affected eye”.

“I’ve had a quiet summer recovering at home and feel positive about the progress I’ve made in my healing and recovery so far,” she wrote in the post.

Now, John hopes that by “taking the initiative” to correct his sight, he will be able to make music again.
