Harlesden: Woman killed in ‘truly shocking’ triple shooting pictured as second victim fights for life


The woman who was murdered in triple shooting at Harlesden Police have named him as 46-year-old Michelle Sadio while another victim is fighting for his life.

Describing the incident as a “heinous act of violence”, v The Metropolitan Police they said officers were called to Gifford Road at around 9.15pm on Saturday night Brent.

Local residents said they saw “bodies on the ground” and heard “a lot of crying and screaming” amid the “pandemonium”.

The woman, around 40 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. Official identification has not been made, but police say they believe the victim is Michelle.

Two men, both in their 30s, were also injured. One is in hospital in critical condition, while the other’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation into the shooting continues, the police added.

A neighbor, who lives on Gifford Road, said people were attending a vigil at a nearby church at the time of the fatal shooting.

“People came out of the church, they were at the vigil and they saw the bodies on the ground,” they said. “I heard a lot of crying and screaming.”

Another local resident, who also did not want to be named, said he was inside the Elim River of Life Pentecostal Church on Gifford Road, which is behind a police cordon, on Saturday night when someone entered the church to say there had been a shooting. He described the scene outside as “pandemonium”.

Another Gifford Road resident said: “My daughter walked through the door 10 minutes before it happened.

“My son thought there were fireworks, and then I heard a neighbor screaming and I realized there were shots.

“It’s crazy, it’s sad. It’s scary, it doesn’t feel safe.

“I’ve lived here since 2008 and I’ve never heard anything like this before.”

She added that the victim does not live in the area.

A Creukhorne Road resident said they heard five gunshots in a row on Saturday night.

Supt Tony Josephs, from North West Command which covers Brent, said: “This is a truly shocking incident where one woman has died and two others have been injured, and I understand the concern this will cause the local community and those across London.

“I want to reassure people that a team of experienced detectives are already working hard to piece together the events of last night and identify who is responsible for this heinous act of violence.

“If you were in or around Gifford Road at the time of the shooting, or have any information about who is responsible, please contact us. The family is devastated and we must work together to provide them with answers.”
