This year Glastonbury raised 5.9 pounds for charity. The Somerset festival donated £2m to NHS Somerset charity and £126,000 to support NHS hospitals in Bristol and foster staff across the country.
The music festival also continued to support partners Oxfam, WaterAid and Greenpeace, and in addition made donations to the Children of War, UNHCR and other charities working to establish what the organizers called “some of the most difficult places in the world”.
The Glastonbury rally is running to help people in conflict, and has pledged to match donations: the public donation raised £639,000, meaning the festival gave more than £1.27m to organizations including the British Red Cross, Oxfam and War Children.
“Recent world events have highlighted the plight of refugees and asylum seekers both at home and overseas,” the festival said. “We are proud to be able to support the charities working with these groups.”
The Festival Venue Music Trust and other charities were helping by donating access to music as well as supporting organisations.
He has also given projects in Bristol, including Bristol Children’s Charity, Youth Moves, Young Bristol and Black2Nature.
More locally, in the village of Pilton and other neighboring towns, Glastonbury has supported enrichment resources for local primary schools and growing vegetables for community food banks, as well as established care, wildlife and environment organizations, and the Food Forest Project, which operates with local farmers and communities for access to growing crops.
£1.6m was paid for procurement services. The ceremony thanked the volunteers, whose age supports more than 200 charities.
