68-year-old ID’d as man who died in Plainville house fire



A man who was killed in a two-alarm house fire Friday afternoon he was identified by the Plainville Fire Department Saturday morning.

Mark Beyersdorfer, 68, was found by firefighters inside a house on 61st Street near the school that was engulfed in flames, according to a statement from the department. Beyersdorfer used a wheelchair and was unable to escape the fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The ranch-style single-family home was found by officials around 3:08 p.m. and was “quickly extinguished” by firefighters. No one else was injured, the department said.
