The Worcester Red Sox were closed on Friday by the Syracuse Mets, as the hosts passed a 4-0 victory.
The two parties were left out of the first five entries until David Villar broke the deadline with a simple RBI for the mets at the end of the sixth. Gilberto Celestino delivered a house three later at the entrance to secure Syracuse’s leadership.
The Red Sox had only four successes at night, but they were not without their possibilities. Worcester went out 0-7 on the plate with runners in punctuation positions and left 10 runners at the base in loss.
Kristian Campbell picked up twice in his five bat.
Worcester (43-41) will face Syracuse in the fifth game of his six-game series on Saturday, July 5 at 6:35 pm
