Liverpool forward Diogo Jota dies in tragic car crash at 28



Liverpool striker, Diogo Jota, has died in a tragic car accident.

According to The Guardian, The 28 -year -old Portuguese striker and his brother, Andre, were killed in Spain when one of Lamborghini’s later tires was punctured and the car left the road.

Liverpool confirmed the deaths in a Thursday morning statement:

The club has been informed that the 28 -year -old has died after a traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, Andre.

Liverpool FC will not comment at the moment and will request the privacy of the family, friends, colleagues and staff of the Diogo Club and Andre, as they try to reach an agreement with unimaginable loss.

We will continue to provide them with our full support.

Jota had been with Liverpool since 2020, scoring 47 goals in 103 appearances. He was also a facility in the national team of Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo, who paid tribute to his teammate fallen on social media.

“It does not make sense”, Ronaldo wrote. “Right now we were together in the national team, right now you have married. My condolences to your family, your wife and children. I wish them all the strength of the world. I know you will always be with them. Rest in peace, diogo and André. We will all miss you.”
