Hartford, vt. – The Maxfield Sports Complex held a wild adventure on Wednesday when the Upper Valley Nighthawks gathered ahead of the Blue Sox Valley in a 10-7 contest.
The loss led to the streak of six Nighthawks games and stopped any boosts that the Blue Sox tried to build during their road trip.
Vall did not waste time, as they brought two runs to the second post thanks to the contributions of the RBI of Nicholas Spavent and Gavin Schrader. The offense did not plan to be stopped, as Mike Lucarelli also scored to get 3-0. Sebastian Mexico unveiled his presence and expanded the score to four at the same entry.
Christopher Batuyios released four solid entries for the Blue Sox, allowing only twice to the Nighthawks before being relieved. But this game was far from ending, as Upper Valley found his rhythm in the fifth post, making contributions from Kyle Neri and Cameron Boardman each marked a race to reduce his deficit by half.
The sixth entry occurred and the game exploded when Upper Valley ran in eight batters to the house plate and his deficit was erased. Boardman’s Elite Play, Ryan Presiano and Cooper Blauser denied the game at six.
In the seventh place, the Nighthawks took full control, as Neri’s Run put Upper Valley for the first time at night. A Bléser-led insurance did the game 8-6, but Valley did not go down without struggle. The second round of Lucarelli’s night put Valley in the eighth post. Cole Fellows and Nick Shuhet responded to the right and pushed the leadership to 10-7 for the Nighthawks in the upper valley.
Sebastian Mexico led Valley’s score three times and a RBI, with three other batters adding efforts several times. The Blue Sox could not overcome the descent of the upper valley despite collecting 13 baserunners.
Valley, now sitting at 11-10, will try to bounce tomorrow night when they return to Holyoke, Massachusetts, to take the northern cord cats of Adams at 18:35
