Why Red Sox’ Alex Cora told his starter to ‘take a look at the scoreboard’

Boston: Manager Alex Cora sent an important message to start the pitcher Bayan Bello After leaving the game on Friday.

“I said,” Give a look at the scoreboard. Bad days, you should be right there. You have done a good job for us, “said Cora, who said to the 26 -year -old right.

It Red sox lost 9-0 to Blue Jays Here at Fenway Park after relevant Luis Guerrero and Brennan Bernardino combined to give up six runs after Bello’s departure.

Bello certainly did not have his best things. But he still managed to give his team 6 entrances, even after a first ticket of 30 throws.

“Much traffic and it seemed worse than it was,” Cora said. “But there were six entrances, three runs.”

The right allowed only the three runs despite giving up eight times and three walks. Hit only a batter.

“It doesn’t matter how it looks,” Cora said. “He gave us six tickets, three runs. This is a quality start. He gave us a chance.”

Bello registered an exit to the first pitch. Removed the first two batters in seven combined launches. But then it allowed one to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. And he walked Alejandro Kirk in nine throws after he had achieved 0-2 in the count. George Springer’s single RBI made 1-0 Blue Jays at the first post.

“Obviously I didn’t have my best things today,” Bello said through translator Carlos Villoria Benítez. “I was fighting there, fighting all the baptisms. And I know the first pair of tickets were long, but I was able to quickly leave the second half of the game.”

Bello has launched at least 6 tickets in five of his departures in June. This comes after he threw less than five tickets in five of his six beginnings in May.

So Cora wanted to let Bello know that he has the kind of talent to make it through 6 tickets even his worst day.

“I feel like all year round, this is what I have learned, even if you do not have the best things in your first couple tickets, you must continue to fight and continue to try to leave,” said Bello. “And I think this was my goal today.”

Bello won only nine swings and fouls and six reached his four -seam fast ball. He launched 41 sunken, 23 fast four seams, 16 sliders/sweeping, 13 cutters and 11 changes.

“At the beginning of the game, I had no sensation for my sinkler, slipping or changes,” said Bello. “As the game continued, I was able to better command my four seams and Sinker and try to go out with these releases.”
