Springfield debates stricter laws to stop drug dealing near parks, schools following shutdown of trafficking operation

Springfield-With a continuous increase in overdose, a problem that has not been made by the needles used parks and a May bust that closes a significant drug trafficking operation, the city seeks to try to recover a law that charged the drug distributors that came near schools and parks.

The City Council’s Health and Health and Public Safety Committees are united to try to find a way to restore a law that would illegally sell drugs 1,000 meters from a school. The accusation was a mandatory minimum sentence of two years, said the city councilor, Brian Santaniello, chairman of the Health Committee and Human Service.
