At 1:34 a.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning from 1 p.m. until 7 a.m. Thursday for North Worcester and South Worcester, as well as counties of Bristol, Plymouth and Middlesex.
The weather service says “flooding from excessive rainfall remains possible.”
“Widespread rainfall of 2 to 3 inches is expected with localized amounts in excess of 4′ possible this evening. This may result in minor flooding of main streams and rivers. Heavy rainfall may also cause localized urban flooding and can affect part of the night travel,” explains the weather service. “You should monitor further forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in flood-prone areas should be prepared to take action should flooding occur.”
