An ex-executive of the WWE who had been fighting the allegations of sexual abuse in a lawsuit by an ex-employee has agreed to a confidential agreement and will now help the accuser as he continues to suit the company and former leader Vince Vince McMahon, according to representatives and lawyers on Wednesday.
John Laurinaitis, former WWE talent relations, who fought with the name Johnny Ace, will help Janel Grant in his demand against McMahon and the worldwide struggle entertainment conglomerate. Representatives of the grant and Laurinaitis lawyer, Edward Brennan, confirmed the settlement cooperation agreement and said that Laurinaitis has “evidence” against McMahon and the company, but would not say what it was.
“Its agreement for a confidential agreement is a next step to take responsibility for McMahon and WWE and bring justice to Ms. Grant after years of sexual and traffic abuse,” said representatives of Grant and Laurinaitis in a joint statement. “Mr. Laurinaitis hopes to continue with his life. We cannot provide any additional detail at this time.”
A judicial document presented on Wednesday says that Grant and Laurinaitis agreed to a removal of demand claims against laurinaitis, but allegations against WWE and McMahon are maintained.
McMahon’s lawyer Jessica Rosenberg issued a statement in response.
“John Laurinaitis’s dismissal today as the defendant does not change the facts in this case in any way. Vince McMahon never mistreated Janel Grant,” said Rosenberg. “No matter how much your team’s press releases, the truth is still unchanged.”
Rosenberg added that a Laurinaitis lawyer said previously that the complaints of the demand were not unfounded.
WWE representatives did not immediately return the emails in search of comments on Wednesday.
Grant sued WWE, McMahon and Laurinaitis last year at the Federal Court of Connecticut, where WWE is headquartered at Stamford. With graphic details, he claims that McMahon coerced her with sexual acts with him, Laurinaitis and others, and claims that the two men sexually assaulted her. He says he was performed for humiliating acts during the encounters. Demand also includes photographs of sexual texts that McMahon sent Grant.
McMahon, ex -CEO and President of the WWE, has denied Grant’s allegations. He said before that the demand is “full of lies, obscene cases that never occurred, and that it is a vindictive distortion of truth. I intend to strongly defend myself from the non-foundation accusations and I hope to eliminate my name.” His lawyers said in court documents that he had a relationship agreed with Grant and never abused it.
Grant started working for WWE in 2019 as an entry employee at his legal department, a job organized by McMahon, and then moved to the Talented Relations Department, where Laurinaitis was his boss.
Grant said he was finally pressured to leave his job with the WWE and sign a non -disclosure agreement of $ 3 million. The lawsuit also aims to declare that the agreement is not invalid, saying that McMahon violated the giving agreement -one million dollars and not paying the rest.
Currently pending demand, McMahon, WWE and Laurinaitis, to transfer all claims to arbitration. They said that the lawsuit should not be allowed because Grant agreed to resolve any dispute in arbitration as part of its non -dissemination agreement.

McMahon bought what was then the World Fight Federation in 1982 and transformed it from a regional struggle company into a world phenomenon. In addition to running the company with his wife, Linda, who is now the Secretary of Education of the United States, he also acted at WWE events as himself.
