Going down 2-0 after the first two games of singles against Worcester South, the 28th of the Westfield High School Tennis Team gathered to overcome Worcester South’s number 3 to go to the 32nd round.

The first two single games consisted of Olivia Robeau, which defeated Kaitlyn Goulette in three sets (2-6, 6-0, 10-3) before Shannon Denneby demolished Jillian Batalles (7-5, 6-1). After that, Westfield began his hike to victory, while Mirabella prefontaine defeated Camilla Snyder (6-1, 6-2).

Entering the doubles, it was to do or die by the bombers as they stopped the discomfort. After Kendall O’Brien and Lilyanna Vaddy took Lila Tallagnon and Phoebe McDermott (6-4, 6-2), Westfield finished Worcester South with a double victory by Sania Bhujel and Phoebe von Stange (6-0, 7-5) against Kayla Dosn and Colleen Denney.

Westfield will play Amherst in his next game in the 32nd round. The weather is still TBD.

5 Belchertown (4) vs. no. 28 Whitinsville Christian (1)

After Alison Sim from Whitinsville Christian’s tennis team Christian High School won the first singles game against Belchertown High School by Amanda Murray High School, Belchertown’s number 5 rapidly bounced against Whitinsville Christian’s number 28 for a 4-1 victory to move them to 16.

In the last two rounds, Mia Corish won convincingly in two sets (6-1, 6-2) over Charlotte Defancisca, and Gianna Picardi also won in two sets against Mia Beseng (6-0, 6-0). Belchertown also brought this dominion in the first set of the first doubles game, as Katie Collins and Edith Audette defeated Joanna Graves and Georgia West (6-1, 6-2).

The final doubles set was also won by Belchertown, this time in three sets. Allie Randall and Emma Kornbuth won Alexi Gilchrest and Avery Dertein (4-6, 6-3, 10-6) to end the encounter keeping Belchertown’s season alive.

Number 12 Lenox narrowly defeated a fisty no. 21 Frontier Side, 3-2, to advance to the 16 round of the Girl Tennis Tennis Tournament of Division IV of Miaa’s IV IV.

The millionaires flexed their guns on the side of the avant singles, as Katie Shane, Caroline Kenne and Caity Giordina did not drop a set.

Frontier was very successful in doubles, with the teams of Ester Ehle and Aylen Shaw, as well as Brooke Charest and Hailey Fernandez, demolished their counterparts. However, this was not enough, as Lenox will now continue with his almost perfect season

With a single loss in the campaign, the millionaires will face the 5 Cohasset in the next round.
