Mass. weather: Rain, thunderstorms return after sunny day Wednesday

Rain and thunderstorms are returning to Massachusetts after a mostly sunny day Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the National Weather Service expects higher than average temperatures and sun. But that’ll likely end by Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

“Wet weather should be on our doorstep by sunset,” the National Weather Service wrote. Central Connecticut could see rain by 8 p.m. with it entering into Massachusetts around 3-4 a.m.

Thursday is expected to be cooler with highs in the low to mid 60s and rain continuing.

While Friday is expected to be mostly dry, there could be a thunderstorm in the afternoon, the weather service warned.

And it won’t end there.

“Those seeking a rain-free weekend, please, do not come after the messenger,” the National Weather Service wrote.

Saturday is expected to be rainy across the state. Some of the rain might last until early Sunday morning.
