The National Weather Service issued an updated high wind watch at 2:16 a.m. Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 3 a.m. Thursday for Middlesex, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bristol counties , Plymouth, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket.
The weather service adds: “South wind 20 to 30 mph with gusts 50 to 60 mph possible.”
“Damaging winds could bring down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,” the weather service describes. “Check the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.”
