Westfield – The season is really running for the Westfield High School Volleyball Team.
No one should be surprised that one of the strongest annual tournaments in the region took the court for the first 2025 season tournament game and took care of a decent contestant.
Despite fighting various ties, Westfield number 2 came out with a 25-23, 25-18, 25-22 West Springfield sweep no.

Westfield rose over the ropes several times and came with increasing results. Halfway from the final ensemble, Gio Gonzalez (five slaughter, four assists, two donkeys, eight excavations, two blocks) and Andrew Yerak (five killings, two excavations, ½ block) landed killings and Jake Satkowski (three killings, attending, excavating, 2½ blocks) recorded a block to help a small deficit.
Westfield advanced briefly, 16-15, before the links of 17-17 and 18-18. West Side regained the advantage until the bombers scored the set of again to 21.
Westfield was headed by a Gonzalez AS. A second Ace de Gonzalez gave the Firefighters a 23-21 advantage.
West Side Briefly stopped in Westfield before a Bogdan Kuzin slaughter (five killings, three excavations, 2 ½ blocks) and a Mark Chyruk Ace won.
“I was satisfied with my team,” said Zach Kukharchuk, who ended with a solid line of 10 killings, two aces, 12 excavations and ½ block. “They got strong; they came to play. Our mentality was to keep them as long as we can, try to make these great plays and always play with our network side and focus on ourselves.”
Max Yurtuc (Kill, 16 assists, ace, five excavations), Nolan Rodgers (attendance, nine excavations) and Arlen Messier (two donkeys, five excavations) also contributed to the bombers.
Westfield is moving forward to play First Sale Agawam, 3-1 winner over Central Springfield 4, at the PVVIAC Class Championship at Chicopee High School High School at 2pm
“We may not go exactly where we need because [our players] They continue to develop as volleyball players, “said coach Wingate,” but they really impressed me during the second half of the season as a coach and making some team adjustments. “
