Chancellor Rachel Reeves said that any job secured on Monday would not be “one excluded”, but a “step towards” closer to the partnership with Europe in further areas.

“We think that because of the trust we built we can get a better deal. The European Union was understood from the beginning of these red lines,” said Mrs. Reeves Guardian.
“I am ambitious for our future. This is not one time. There will be things that we achieve the things we achieve, some specific outcomes on Monday, but there will be a step where we want to go between our countries.
“And I see it’s like a journey, not that what happens on Monday, there will be future areas in which we can do more.”

Starmer said that it is more ambitious with EU reset to resolve Brexit ‘suffering’ ‘
The Labor Chair Commons Commons Foreign Affairs Committee called on Keir Starmer to be “brave” in resetting his relationship with Europe to address “suffering” caused by Brexit.
In an interview with IndependentLadies Emily Thornberry said, “We need to go further than the government currently has an ambition to work.”
She warned that there was a “compelling case … from the amount suffering as a result of commercial barriers between Europe and Britain, (which) means that our growth is severely endangered.”
To troubleshoot and bring down some of the barriers, such as the need to check the goods entering the country meet certain standards, said ministers should be more relaxed about this issue.
“I would like to be much more relaxed because of the goods that have the same kind of regulations … if we just agree the same types of standards, not just for food, but also in general, I think it would make it much easier.”
