South Hadley – After falling into a rough patch in the middle of the season, the tigers collected and found their pace.
South Hadley Softball number 9 won the third straight victory on Thursday, closing Longmeadow’s number 8, 5-0.
The tigers achieved an opportunity to score early to get a thin advantage at the first post. After Karli Carmody won a four -pitched hike to open the first background, he stole second to the first to the next shake.
Isabella Blue pulled the batter to win the first for Longmeadow, but a wild terrain to start the next At-Bat allowed Carmody to advance to the third.
Sophia Butler took full advantage of his opportunity, hitting a ball of land in the short film. Carmody reacted sharply and put himself at home, leaving the shortstop of the lancers without play on the plate. Delaney Schrager launched first, achieving the second, but allowing Carmody to easily mark.
“Basically I focused on hitting the ball (i) not forcing anything,” said Butler after the game. “Try to hit it, even if it is a ball of land and advances (the runners), this is all that matters.”
The two crimes remained silent in the second, and Isabella Schaeffer kept it shooting for the third, sitting the lancers in order.
The tigers took another race on the third thanks to Carmody’s base. After Carmody arrived first to a unique single, he advanced to a second in a wild pitch before a ground moved it to the third.
After the third playing field on the next robe, Carmody took the defense from the defense to launching the pitcher, timing his plaque attempt perfectly and stealing successfully at home.
“My coach (third base) basically said to me,” If (the capture) throws him, you go, no matter what he is, “Carmody said.” I just went and moved forward, and she threw it, so I just went home. “
Most of the days, the two entry into the fourth entry is not usually considered a “late playing situation”. But the dark clouds and the heavy gusts of wind that had been made since the second entry only confirmed what was foreseen earlier: a storm would arrive soon and seven entries would not be guaranteed.

Schaeffer forced the next batter to go short, where Butler cleaned him, and stepped on the second before shooting a dart in first to complete the double play from the entrance.
The tigers got a base runner with a walk, but Blue left the hosts quickly to close the fourth.
Needing three more outings to mark an official result, Schaeffer did not waste time in the fifth and hit the side, needing only 13 throws.
“We did not see the time as a distraction until the (fifth) entry,” said Schaeffer. “… we got to do the job, we definitely had this mentality and helped us.”
Without rain or lightning still in sight, the game continued to the bottom of the fifth. The tigers did not relate, labeling the lancers for three more runs with the simple RBIs of Butler and Samantha Laflesh who achieve the advantage of South Hadley.
Violet Carillon also approached to mark on a wild terrain, as the tigers brought three runs through the dish before the rain and the lighting burst and finish the procedures of the day.
The strong form of the tigers comes at a crucial moment. After the start of the season winning three of his first four games, South Hadley suffered later stops, with the first arrival at the hands of the lancers On April 14.

“I’m really excited about these wins,” said Ari Williams, South Hadley Softball coach. “We feel the impulse goes and all the children left the head.
“Bats look good, the field looks good; they have always been playing very well on the field, but (hit) a problem, so coming (and being) focused on hitting was something I really wanted to do and I feel like the last three games, they have really shown it.”
Schaeffer understands the importance of this addition to the team as the team prepares for an end of jam in the regular season, with six games scheduled for the next eight days.
“The last two wins have made us more physically and mentally stronger as we continue,” said Schaeffer, who ended with nine attacks and allowed only three times in five entrances.
“We are playing stronger, we go to the stronger ball, we are giving our efforts more … We are learning from our mistakes of the past games and this is helping (we) to move on and forget, we just continue to play the level we know we can play.”
South Hadley (8-4) will face number 3 on the road on Friday 9 pm at 5 pm
Longmeadow (7-6) will face Westfield number 5 on the road on Friday, May 11 at 3 pm
