Police are reportedly questioning a man in Pennsylvania in connection with the New York City death of a UnitedHealthcare CEO; Brian Thompson.

“At this time, it is believed that our person was targeted in the assassination of Brian Thompson, CEO of United Healthcare,” said Tisch.
Mangione was seen at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and was recognized by someone who then called the local police.
“Today at 9.14am, Altoona police were dispatched to the restaurant because of reports of a male suspect matching the description of the murder of the AmericaHealthcare CEO. Officers met with the male who was later arrested for related crimes. At this time, the Altoona police department is cooperating with local, state and federal agencies ,” local police said in a statement on Monday.
Police found Mangione in possession of a firearm suppressor, a person consistent with the gunman wearing a fraudulent New Jersey ID matching the ID the person used in the search. New York the city’s inn before the shooting, and a note that “speaks to his motives and mindset,” Tisch noted.
NYPD detectives in Pennsylvania have asked for a further interview on the matter, officials said.

When arrested, police said Mangion had a 3D-printed pistol that had the ability to fire a 9mm round and suppressor. The ghost gun is a weapon with parts sold online and found, police say, matching the description of the gun used in the shooting.
Mangione was born and raised in Maryland, officials said, with ties to San Francisco, California, and his last known address was Honolulu, Hawaii.
His LinkedIn page indicates that he is studying at the University of Pennsylvania for both an undergraduate education and graduating with a master’s degree in 2020.
His most recent job was in Santa Monica, California, according to his LinkedIn.
Earlier on Monday, citing a senior law enforcement source, the New York Times reported that a man we now know to have been Mangione was spotted at a McDonald’s — and it shows the same fake New Jersey identification that police believe Thompson’s killer presented when he was checked into a hospice in Manhattan’s Upper West Side on November 24. The outlet said an elderly employee spotted the man and called 911.
Monday’s development comes after police on Sunday again investigated the Central Park Lakes for reasons — including a murder weapon — linked to the Midtown shooting.
As the search for the executive killer entered its sixth day on Monday, police said they were relaxing their investigation.

According to CBS, the NYPD searched several Central Park lakes on Sunday after failing to recover from a similar underwater rescue the day before. That happened after a briefcase containing a jacket and Monopoly money believed to be Thompson’s murder suspect was found in the park.
The resignation of NYPD officer Tom Walsh signaled the exit, indicating that police are investigating the park for clues – and especially about the murder weapon – in the absence of concrete evidence.
“They found a mantaria here in Central Park, so it just feels like ‘good ground for throwing guns,'” Walsh said.
Although survivors include his widow and two sons, ages 16 and 19, Thompson’s death schadenfreude is elicited by the beast from many in the US who have been violated by the nation’s most predatory health insurance industry.
