During the Monday night of “American Idol”, Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan, judged the 8 best suggestions on which songs to be performed. In return, the remaining “idols” left thanked the jury with three sincere tributes to his career.
The episode of the evening marked the return of the “ Judge Song Contest ”, a round of the competition where each judge anonymously recommends a song for each contestant to act, based on what they know about the vocal capacities and individual performance styles of the first 8.The singers must choose between the three default options and make their selection in the air.
Among the official songs of the competition, the first 8 were divided into two trios and a duo and performed a melody for each judge.
Gabby Samone, Jamal Roberts and Josh King sang the Jam of Richie “Dancing on the Ceiling”, the theme of his 1986 solo album. The trio appeared in bright dresses and pumped the song with Spunk and Soul, leaving Richie visibly rejected.
“I tell you, it was incredible,” he said. “Feast -again!”
Two of this season’s remaining crooners in the country, Slater Nalley and John Foster, joined Thunderstorm Artis to celebrate Luke Bryan with a performance of his song “Huntin ‘, Fishin’ and Lovin ‘Every Day.” Each member of the trio stepped on an acoustic guitar and exchanged Verses Twangy, an approach that Bryan appreciated.
“I will have to bring fishing and fishing now,” he said.
“You changed me, frankly,” Bryan added in a serious note.
Breanna Nix and Mattie Pruitt completed the tributes with an interpretation of Underwood’s song, “Something in the Water”. The judge and former winner of “Idol” called the “Beautiful” performance, adding that the duet members seemed “very comfortable”.
Jelly Roll of the artist in residence, who was in the public during the episode on Monday night, also entered with a fulfillment for the duo.
“I didn’t even feel like they were in the middle of the biggest night in their career,” he said. “She felt like an older sister and a little sister singing about how they felt about each other in front of a group of people.”
The end of Monday’s episode sent home Josh King; The remaining seven contestants will compete in a “two -night Disney celebration” during the episodes next Sunday and Monday.
