Ruth Buzzi, the innovative series of sketches “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-in”, has died. She was 88 years old.
Buzzi died on Thursday May 1st at his home in Texas, according to a position from the official comic book Facebook page.
“He was for several years in the care of Hospice with Alzheimer’s disease,” says the publication.
Instead of flowers, Buzzi’s family asks the pain to make a donation to Search for Alzheimer’s.
Buzzi was born in Westerly, Rhode Island on July 24, 1936 in Rena and Angelo Buzzi, a famous stone sculptor, she IMDB Biography States. She grew up in Wequetequock, Connecticut and attended the Storington High School, where Buzzi was a cheerleader.
Buzzi enrolled later at the Pasadena Playhouse for the performing arts and was classmates with Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman. During this time, Buzzi made a hearing and received a permanent part of “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-in”. He appeared in the comedy sketch series from 1968 to 1973, winning a Golden Globe Award and received five Nominations in Emmy in the process.
