The Westfield News Scoreboard: Hampshire, Westfield softball teams combine for 5 home runs



Softball

Hampshire 12, Westfield 2

Regional Hampshire won three times for sweeping season 3-0 season with a victory of 12-2 Thursday in the city of Whip.

Reagan Dubay (3 for 5, double, race, three Rbis), Kalin Dubay (3 by 5, three rolls, three RBI) and Teagan Charles (2 by 5, two rolls, three RBIS) each launched a race for Hampshire (13-0), which remained without flying this season.

Katie Bouchard (Run, RBI) and Sydney Lapanne (Run, RBI) were each for Westfield (8-4). The bombers Grace Gauger and Shea Hurley also were successful.

Lacrosse boys

Minnechaug 14, Westfield 6

Liam Ramos led Westfield with three goals and an assistant. Declan Connally (goal, assistance), Jase Castell (goal, assistance), Gavin Topor (goal) and Chris Shea (attendance) also contributed to the offensive end of the bombers.

Shea made 17 network savings for Westfield.

Baseball

Josh Wagner, Chase Firefighters Terriers

Westfield 10, West Springfield 3

Westfield exploded for nine runs on the first two entries and trusted Josh Wagner’s arm to collect a key victory on April 30 at West Springfield.

Wagner allowed three runs (all at the first post), three times and without strolling for seven complete tickets, while he got 13 batters.

Michael Zarelli exploded a two -way Homer for West Side at the end of the first entrance, but Wagner closed the rest of the road.

Isaiah Gomez went 2 to 3 with a double and four RBI to direct Westfield on the plate. Robert Ninotti (two runs, two walks), Wagner (double, two runs, two RBI), Paul Lawry (Double, Walk), Nolan Wondolowski and Jackson Lavalley (Run, Walk) were successful for bombers.

Patrick Moore of Westfield walked and scored two runs. Jack Stathatos took two walks, a race and an RBI.

Boys’ volleyball

Rams wins the five -set thriller

Southwick 3, border 2

Southwick won a thriller on the road on April 30, increasing the border 25-20, 16-25, 20-25, 25-22, 15-11 to improve up to 8-3.

Max Salvador (22 excavations), Phong Tran (42 assists), Nicolas Spina (24 slaughter, six excavations), River Thompson (17 slaughter, eight excavations, six assistencies, three assists) and Braeden Iglesias (eight excavations, 4 1/2 blocks) directed the bouquets.

Bombers continue to roll

Westfield 3, Longmeadow 1

Westfield improved until 11-1 with 25-20, 25-16, 16-25, 25-22 wins April 30 at home.

Gio Gonzalez (10 killings, 14 assists), Zach Kukharchuk (16 killings, 3½ blocks), Jake Satkowski (17 Mata) and Max Yurtuc (34 assists, three donkeys, six excavations) directed the bombers.

Westfield has won nine games in a row since he suffered his only loss of the season in Agawam on April 2.
