Orlando – Jayson Tatum struggles through a painful bone bird on the right wrist, but the disease has not slowed him down in two parties since his return. The All-Star exploded by 37 points in match 4 to help the Celtics achieve a 3-1 lead over the magic in their first round.
Tatum has adopted Orlando’s physical physicality from the absence of his match 2, taking advantage of Magic’s desire to play it directly by reaching the free launch line. He has gone to the free launch line 26 times in the last two games, including one in the 14th series in match 4.
“You just need to do the pressure,” said Tatum. “Playoffs have many different things. Each game is different and I say it all the time. Sometimes you just have to overcome your game. Sometimes you just have to be able to play for you or someone else. And I think we did it well tonight.”
It was not the most beautiful shooting night for Tatum, he hit only 10 of his 25 field goal attempts, but his production was critical of the duration, as the visitors opened a 91-91 draw with a 16-7 to win the victory. Tatum scored nine of these points in the final four minutes despite having taken a couple of hard times to the wrists in magical offenses.
“Year after year,” said Tatum. “Only aging, have more experience. Understand the moment when it is many times.
“ For me or for a teammate, you just want to be in a position where you are involved and have part of the action or anything when the game was on the line. It was 91-91 with four minutes, a time of waiting, I was excited at that moment because I knew we were going to find out and playing. It is not only me. Everyone made play.
Tatum also sought to reduce the strong bone bone bird, which has been struggling to help Boston control the series.
“It’s whatever it is. I know with what I am trying,” said Tatum. “My team knows how serious it is, but it is that time of the year. We all sacrifice our bodies and do things. They are the playoffs. I doubt that someone feels 100%, but you step on the flat, do whatever you can, give it all. It’s all about trying to find out how to win.”
Tatum has also used his wrist injury to debut a new celebration in the last two games, which he credited to Rookie Baylor Scheierman after the victory of match 4.
“Shoutout al Rook, Man, Baylor,” said Tatum. “He went out with the celebration when I got to three. I think people are taking note, and now it’s a new thing.”
The Celtics will try to close the series in Boston on Tuesday night to avoid a trip back to Orlando. Tatum hopes that he will be able to support his experience to gain a fundamental rest for Boston before a probable confrontation of the second round with the Knicks.
“Just understanding that it is my eighth year in the playoffs,” said Tatum. “I have played 115 strange playoffs games, so I’ve been here before, I’ve been right now. Just stay composed and not distract for external things or anything. Try to do the right reading, focus on the next play, keep you in the head, and just do what you can, to help your team be in a position to win.”
