Boston: Instant reactions as a Red Sox (13-11) Earn Patriots Day, surpassing White Sox, 4-2, to close a four-game series:
1) Walker Buehler launched badly on a milestone April Fenway Day (the home workshop), but made sure that the possibility of starting the day of the patriots would not be lost. The White Sox started the morning with two singles and a quick race, but Buhler closed things later, working around traffic a couple of times to publish their best departure in a Red Sox uniform.
Buhler lasted seven tickets, limiting Chicago to a four -hits race. He got nine and went down his era to 4.23. It was its longest start since May 8, 2022.
2) For the Red Sox, the bat-bat of the day came from Kristian Campbell to the third. With an exit and the bases loaded in a single-race game, Campbell dropped 0-2 against headline Jonathan Cannon before working the count up to 3-2, and then hit one on the right side for the two-round plate. The battle of eight releases was another example of the advanced approach that Campbell has shown in his first month as a large hall. Swing as big for the Red Sox.
3) Alex Cora joked before the game Rob Refsnyder was a morning person because he has young children and always has to get up early. This was true in the second, when Refsnyder got a quick barrel ball far above the home plate and tied the game with a 103.4 mph, 397 feet. Green monster blast. It was only the tenth Refsnyder’s house that went to the right.
4) The defense of the interior is only really noticeable when there are errors on the board. But the Red Sox had a great day in the dirt on Monday. The highlights included a Nifty 1-4, which ended with the double play of Triston Casas to close the fifth and the launch of Alex Bregman in Nab Michael A. Taylor in an attempt to discomfort in the sixth place. The roof of the defense is high for the inside of the SOX. Now, it’s about running.
5) Alex Cora continues without fear of shaking the end of his bullpen based on the matches. With the left -handed Nick Maton and Andrew Benendi at the top of the Chicago line at the eighth, the Red Sox approached Aroldis Chapman.
Chapman allowed his first Homer of 2025 – Andrew Benendi took him in a left -hand game to the left – But he kept leadership to have a dam. Justin Slaten then entered the bottom of the program and recorded his third salvation (it is one behind Chapman) with a ninth 1-2-3.
7) It really didn’t matter much, but a little strange Jarren Duran has left three easy fly balls in Fenway in just 11 games.
8) Good things will happen when Alex Bregman (1-for-2, 2 BB) and Trevor Story (3-for-4) reach the base combined six times in a match.
9) Fans should make a point to reach a Monday game at the Marathon at some point. It is a day only fantastic in the city, and it is likely to see a victory of Red Sox. Boston is now 72-56. Monday marked his first victory since 2021, when they beat Lucas Giolito and the chisox broke out.
10) I could have been better, obviously, but winning the season series against a bad White Sox team is better than losing it. The Red Sox ended up taking four of seven. Each time you can take three of four in a long series is something.
11) The calendar is about to be tougher, but with three consecutive teams with the winning records below: Seattle, Cleveland and Toronto.
12) The sailors (12-10) come to the city for a three-game series that begins on Tuesday. Here is the calendar (as well as the probable launch):
