Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc disqualified
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were both disqualified by the Chinese Grand Prix in a catastrophic impact for Ferrari.
The cars of both drivers failed to post-race checks, and the Hamilton sliding block found it to be below the minimum thickness, while the Leclercov car was insufficient weight.
Alpine’s Pierre Galy is also disqualified for a car for less weight.
This means that Hamilton and Leclerc points for their sixth and fifth place ended – eight and 10 – are deleted from the championship.
Disqualification does not affect Hamilton’s victory Sprint Race on Saturday, for which he provided eight points.
