Bridgeport, Conn.-The Springfield Thunderbirds (30-26-2-4) ran into the road and fell to Bridgeport Islanders (14-40-4-3) for a final score of 4-1 Saturday inside the total mortgage field.
For a consecutive ninth game, the T-Birds saw their opponent a 1-0 advantage, as Chris Terry, 35, cleaned a rebound from the Vadim Zherenko pads at 4:36 on the first to give Bridgeport to the leadership.
The T-Birds responded thanks to their hot power play at 8:21, as Matthew Peca directed a strange Nikita Alexandrov to blue painting for a setback that found his way through Henrik Tikkanen even in the game, 1-1.
Zherenko and Tikkanen treated some chaos near their folds in the second, but the 1-1 tie was taken to the middle of the game before a too expensive penalty of many men hurts Springfield.
With their first power game of the night, the islanders hit when Adam Beckman shot a wrist on the upper shelf a few after hitting an out of the post, and Bridgeport had the advantage 2-1 at 11:27 of the second.

Cam Thiesing added more at the helm of only 1:37 to the third, intercepting a blow to the Springfield area and made a chance ahead of Zherenko to turn it into a 4-1 game.
Springfield managed only seven shots in the final period, and Tikkanen ended a relatively free night of stress with 21 savings in Bridgeport’s victory.
The T-Birds return home on Friday and Saturday for the first Ice Gel games against Iowa Wild, with the puck drops of 19:05 that were foreseen during the two nights within the Thunderdome.
