A 23 -year -old Avon man accused of Kill his mother He treated mental health problems in recent days and acted mistakenly while talking to police, according to a prosecutor on his lawsuit on Wednesday morning.
The man recently expressed self -injury thoughts and stayed at work on Tuesday, and hours later his mother was bleeding profusely with a knife cut nearby, said the prosecutor. Authorities later arrested him in a mall without incident, but described him as he was strangely behaving while he was at the police station.
Thadeus Joseph appeared on Wednesday morning in the Stoughton District Court for his demand for an accusation of murder due to the death of Astrid Joseph, 53, by Avon.
The man was ordered without bail and a preventive hearing was scheduled on April 10.
Shortly before 16.30 on Tuesday, Astrid Joseph’s husband and Thadeus’ father, Yvel Joseph, returned home from work to find his wife lying in a blood pool in the kitchen pantry, according to prosecutors.
A carved knife was next to his body.
According to court documents, the blood was filtered from the head, he had a puncture wound on his cheek, and Yvel Josep did not find a dust on his body.
Yvel Joseph called 911 to help them and told them that the family car, a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder, which was missing in the road, according to prosecutors and court documents.
Yvel Joseph had not heard of his wife from 12:30 that day and knew that his son had been home to work taking a “day of mental health”, according to documents.
There had also been a number of erratic calls from the home that morning and afternoon, which led to Yvel Joseph to leave the work early.
But his son was not home when he arrived.

The father told the officers Thadeus Joseph suffered mental health problems, but they were not diagnosed. He also said that Thadeus Joseph told his parents that he had anxiety and self -injury thoughts on Saturday, March 1.
After a three -hour search of Thadeus Joseph and the car, the Braintree Police Department was called to the Nissan Pathfinder Blanc at the South Shore Plaza, the documents were read.
Thadeus Joseph was found inside the mall and arrested without incident when he left, according to the documents.
But in the Police Department, the 23 -year -old was “extremely little cooperative” and “sarcastic” towards the officers, according to documents.
At certain points, Thadeus Joseph tried to lick police officers and made vulgar comments to official women, the documents were read. He also made a fist on the ground and destroyed the property in the department.
The prosecutors highlighted a comment he made while in the department.
“This is so fun. All I had to do was kill my mother, and then so? “According to prosecutors and documents.
On Wednesday, outside the court, a man named Richard Gedon who identified himself as a family friend called the incident a “tragedy” and said that family friends had been in the courtroom today to show support to the family.
“The family is going through some things,” Gedon said, but he refused to comment more about “what is happening” with the mental health of Thadeus Joseph.
