Providence, Ri-The Springfield Thunderbirds (27-19-2-4) sent 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to a 4-3 victory over the providence Bruins (30-17-4-2) on Saturday night in Amica Mutual Pavilion.
The game score started with a flight in the final three minutes of a first period that had been quiet so far. Vadim Zherenko had a huge more prominent moment of the midpoint of the period, while extending his right leg to disassociate with his Vinni Letieri offer.
Providence, however, returned to work and took advantage of a situation of 5 to 3 when Oliver Wahlstrom defeated Zherenko when the first penalty expired to give the Bruins a 1-0 advantage at 17:04. Wahlstrom’s goal marked his first at AHL in almost five years, as he played his first game in the league since March 11, 2020.
The lead of Bruins grew up to 2-0 just two minutes later, while Riley Tufte crashed the net to lean a Patrick Brown center attempt by Zherenko’s skate. In the process, however, Tufte was penalized by Zherenko’s interference after the shit crossed the line.
While Tufte’s goal was, the T-Birds play obtained a fundamental response with only 12 seconds to the first, while Dalibor Dvorsky drought a five-game drought with a wrist searching from the right circle of a cross passage from Nikita Alexandrov.
The Springfield Power Play continued its powerful night at only 2:07 in the second period, while Matthew proposed a Snapper Matt Luff passing through Michael Dipietro to tie the game, 2-2. The goal of Peca tied his career in one season (23) and tied Adam Gaudette for the longest streak in the history of the team, as the captain has scored a goal in six consecutive contests.
The Bruins generated most of the possibilities of the rest of the middle frame, but Zherenko remained firmly in their fold, leaving out the 17 attempts to bring the game 2-2 to the final period.
Tufte made things difficult for T-Birds again when he entered and beat Zherenko on a chief chip of front 22 seconds in the final period, restoring the leadership of Providence at 3-2.
From that point on, Zherenko assured that the domestic team would not get any insurance, maintaining the deficit in one objective. After getting a clutch penalty with less than 3:30 in regulation, Corey Andonovski chose a great time to clean his first goal as T-Bird. The newly acquired end was stopped at the bottom of the left circle and was shown in the perfect place when a Mackenzie Maceabern bounce in the Dipietro pills found its stick. Andonovski did this for Dipietro, setting the stage for the third consecutive game of Springfield.
Visitors took the play to the additional session with five of the six shots on the net, but Dipietro ended each offer, including a LUFF misdeed effort. For a third consecutive contest, the game advanced to a shootout. After neither team became the clean centers of the first two rounds, Tanner Dickinson finally raised a decline under the crossbar to give Springfield the edge. Needing a goal from John Farinacci to extend the shooting, the Bruins achieved this, as the Carterman center was very good next to the back and forced a fourth round.
Alexandrov had his opportunity for Redemption after going out to a game-winning attempt on Friday, and the Jack-Of-All-Trads of the T-Birds made a magnificent handmade maneuver to fight Dipietro. Tufte was unsuccessful in solving Zherenko at the end of the round and the T-Birds completed their comeback and victory. Zherenko ended the night with 42 savings in regulation and overtime, followed by three savings in four shooting attempts. In defeat, Dipietro stopped 31 attempts in 65 minutes before the shooting.
The T-Birds continue their road swing while flying to Charlotte for 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday against Checkers inside Bojangles Coliseum.
