Before fielding a question in the post-match, he launched straight into the complaint.
“Yeah, let me start. One thing I teach my team is not to dive,” he said. “Maybe I should start teaching them that the way this has gone here, the way these (things) are going, maybe I should start teaching them how to dive.”
The Flyers were called for eight penalties in the game compared to four for the Bruins. Each team had a power play goal.
Tortorella was irritated by the call on Garnet Hathway midway through the third period when he thought Mason Lohrei spilled for minimal contact.
The Bruins had another power play late in the season when Sean Couturier was called for tripping David Pastrnak with 1:57 left in regulation and the score tied 2-2.
“This is one of the things we talk about the most. We have to play an honest game. There is no cheating,” said Tortorella. “The (things) that happened here tonight were ridiculous. I’m proud of the way our team played. Did we upset another one? Yeah, but other people had a little bit to do with it.”
