Light Heaviveight Ben Whittaker faces Veter Liam Cameron (23-6-1, KOS) in left to two months from now on. April in World Arena resorts in Birmingham, England.
It is unclear why the two of them are even trying for a rematch because Whittaker, 27 showed that he wanted from his previous fight when he caught Cameron, causing two from the ring in the sixth round. Whittaker claimed to hurt his ankle and leg during the fall, but the fans doubted that it was faked and he just wanted to get out of the fight.
Flop clock
The fight has shown that the Olympic Whittaker of 2020. He cannot handle pressure and hard recordings. It was the same thing we saw from him in his loss to Cubina Arlena Lopez. When Cuban’s talent was attacked, Whittaker melted like butter. What we saw in the Cameron fight was identical to the Olympic match with Lopez. Whittaker went to pieces when he started down with Cameron, who ignored the moves of the rubbish of worthless colored spars, a fighter like a fighter and hit him on the head and body.
Outside the ring, Whittaker talks a big game but He was pure if against Arlen Lopez and Liam Cameron. He looked frightened in both fights. Between the rounds, you could see Whittaker is desperate to help, watching your corner on directions to fall into these fighting. There was nothing that his coach could have done except the instructions for the bonds that Whittaker does not follow.
Is it worth it?
Whittaker’s promoter makes an error with the choice to take a shifting with Cameron because this guy is all right. He has the wrong style, he hit too much and has a toughness about him that he can’t stand. If Whittaker’s promoters look at this fight as a decision whether to keep or throw it as useless luggage, the rematch makes sense. It’s a good test to decide whether the Whittaker is worth holding.
If I was Whittaker’s Promoter, I’d throw it right after Cameron fighting. I would see everything I needed from that conflict and from his shatter against Arlen Lopez at the Olympics to know that he was a waste of time. It was not built to stand pressure and pain.
