Bill Haney is still trying to change the minds of fans and rewrite the history of his son, Devin Haney’s loss to Ryan Garcia earlier this year. He still seems quite bitter about Hani’s loss, which took away the former king’s aura of invincibility.
Papa Hanay took to social media today to point out that the trio of judges Devin (31-0, 15 KOs) won eight of twelve rounds against Kingry in their fight on April 20th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. He even made records to prove it. Bill comes as if he is trying to turn white what happened in that nightmare.
The thing is, if Hanney had made some adjustments after the seventh round by taking Ryan’s left hook, he would have won the fight. That’s all he had to do. Bill should have lit a fire under Devin’s butt after the seventh to keep his right hand up and take away Rhianna’s left, but he didn’t.
Unfortunately, Garcia knocked out Hani three times in that fight, hitting the deck hard in the seventh, tenth and eleventh rounds. It was pretty brutal to watch from the seventh round on, especially when the referee took a point away from Ryan without warning for a strike on the break.
“Everybody else that got screwed, Devin went and said that God doesn’t make mistakes.” Eight rounds clean. Eight rounds won. In all referee records. Ostarine the man can keep his knockdowns, the truth always is. Like the name Hanei. Locked in,” said Bill Haney Ks.
Haney somehow went the distance, but lost a 12-round majority decision. The loss was later overturned and ruled a no contest because Garcia tested positive for the banned PED Ostarine.
Haney could return with Garcia in 2025 after Kingry’s one-year suspension expires. It will involve difficult negotiations. Ryan is expected in April, but is unlikely to take on a top fighter right away. Hanney can cash in on that second fight if they come to an agreement.
A video of Hani training in the gym was released today, and he looks in good shape. His weight has come down, and he should have no problem getting back in the ring in early 2025. Teofimo Lopez recently mentioned that he made a $2.4 million offer with a 55-45 split for Hani, which he turned down.
If Hannay is turning down that kind of money, it still hasn’t registered that he’s been beaten and needs to climb back up to where he was before. This is typical though. With a lot of beaten fighters, it doesn’t register with them that they can’t command the same days after schooling.
