Western Massachusetts history and tourism officials are expecting more funds to come from Beacon Hill after two local history centers received small grants to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding.
Massachusetts 250 is the statewide campaign to promote the nation’s upcoming birthday, July 4, 2026, the semi-centennial of when 56 men signed the Declaration of Independence.
The celebratory events held until then are expected to bring in millions in tourism revenue for the state.
