It End defensive star requested a trade in the Brown and published a statement to X on Monday morning explaining the decision.
“As a child I dreamed of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl, and this goal is achieved today more than ever. My love for the northern community – Ohio and the incredible fan of The Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life.
“While I loved calling this city in my house, my desire to win and compete in the biggest stages will not allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to move from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete and Win a Super Bowl.
“Given this, I have requested to be marketed from Cleveland Browns.”
Bottle has passed his first eight seasons of the NFL with the Brown and has become a basic element in its line. The 29 -year -old has seven seasons in a row with two -digit sacks and has at least 14 in four consecutive years.
Browns CEO Andrew Berry told journalists in January that he had no interest in negotiating Garrett and wanted to sign the defensive end in a long term extension.
The Browns have made only two appearances in the playoffs in Garrett’s mandate and ended in 2024 with a record of 3-14. Despite an abysmal season for Cleveland, Garrett led the league with 22 loss attacks.
An NFL executive said to Dianna Russini of Athletic May the break between Garrett and the Browns will be messy.
It is unclear which teams will be interested in negotiating by Garrett, but the Execu told Russini“It will be a few wild weeks.”
