Dear Eric: My family lives in a small apartment building and we really enjoy our neighbors. However, there is a problem that runs around the holidays that I am not sure how to approach without offending these good neighbors.
Our family does not travel very often. We also do not receive many packages compared to many of our neighbors, most of whom get several packages a day. I am often asked if I can pick up packages while other traveling families have often left.
If I were only so often or just a package here and there, I wouldn’t mind. However, it seems that I have become the person and there are many, many packages to look for. In addition, several times once I have collected and contained packages for the neighbors, they do not sell them in a timely manner once they have returned. Thus, we stayed with piles of boxes and envelopes, and I had to request that people come to obtain their objects.
Although we do not travel, it seems to me to be a place.
If a neighbor asks if we will be around vacation, I don’t want to lie and say we will not be. However, I am tired of being asked to be a default goalkeeper. Can you suggest how I can deal with this dilemma with minimal damage to my good relationships with cute neighbors?

Dear offer: Just because you are around, it does not mean that you wait for the mailbox. You have your own life. If your neighbors are nice (and popular enough to receive gift huts during the holidays), I hope they are also enough farm to hear the truth. Talking to the neighbors in a married way will work better.
