Joe Sacco encouraged, David Pastrnak energized by Bruins line changes

BOSTON — After that led to good early chemistry for both the first and second lines, tentatively Bruins coach Joe Sacco for now it continues with its line changes.

Sacco moved David Pastrnak to play with Brad Marchand and Elias Lindholm a Wednesday’s win over the Chicago Blackhawks and dropped Justin Brazeau to a line with Pavel Zacha and Morgan Geekie.

Pastrnak assisted on two Marchand goals and Brazeau set up Morgan Geekie twice.

“It’s been a while since we’ve connected and played together,” Pastrnak said. “For me, that changed the game from the last game. Both lines started and sometimes that’s what you need. Sometimes it creates a lot of momentum for the player. … At least for me, that changed the game”.

In his brief stint in the big chair, Sacco hasn’t been as prone to switching combinations as Jim Montgomery, but he’s liked that so far.

“We’ll see where it goes, but we had a good response from Marchy, David and Lindy together, and then the second line as well,” he said. “I think they gave us a good response there as well.”

The Bruins host the Flyers on Saturday at 1 p.m
