After the offensive and the defensive players of the team were locked in the NFL Pro Bowl Games, Rookie’s Quarterback Drake Maye Added to the Pro Bowl list as a substitute.
This season the patriots had a Pro Bowl player on a special team Brendan Schoolwho left the games due to surgery. Maye is the first offensive player of patriots to be appointed to the Pro Bowl since 2021, when Rookie’s quarterback, Mac Jones, was named the team as a substitute.
The NFL revealed the Rosters Pro Bowl earlier this month. At the quarterback, Josh Allen de Buffalo, Joe Burrow of Cincinnati and Lamar Jackson de Baltimore were appointed by the AFC. Allen was appointed head of the AFC, however, the quarterback suffered a wrist injury during the loss of the Bills AFC championship in Kansas City and said he was not sure if he would participate in the NFL Games.
This probably eliminated the way to another quarterback like Maye.
In 13 games, Maye completed 66.6% of its passes by 2,276 yards with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Global selection number 3 seemed to be the part of a future franchise quarterback. He also added 421 yards to the ground to go with two current touchdowns.
Maye’s potential was part of the reason Mike Vrabel wanted to come to New England. The new main coach said he was excited to work with the Athletic Quarterback.
“It’s exciting, talented, ready to learn and to continue developing -,” Vrabel said to Wbz. “It is athletic and mobile, has the ability to throw all part of the field with arm talent … There will be a new terminology and a little transportation of what he has had. I know he is ready to learn and is excited We welcome and we want to run our football team. “
The patriots did not have a single professional bowl last season. In 2022, they were represented by Matthew Judon. By 2021, three players initially voted with Judon, Matthew Slater and JC Jackson. Finally, Jones was appointed alternative to the quarterback.
Now Maye is the last patriot player to win the honor.
