Yes, the new “Oreo Loaded” cookies are delicious. they are Oreos full of oreos But that’s not the point.
This is the most pointless derivative flavor Oreo has ever produced. I’ve tried to explain what these cookies are to people and I feel like a conspiracy theorist.
They are “charged”. Loaded with what? Himself, like a bored marketing executive, lost in a maze of carnival mirrors staring at countless permutations of his reflection, thinking about his life and concluding that, yes, buying a Cybertruck will fix his internal philosophical mess instead to go to therapy.
It’s like “Inception” married a Russian doll and had a baby cookie. It’s a recursive flavor Ouroboros that gets reused to create slightly different bastardizations of the same cookie for marketing purposes.
They have done this before. The original Oreo flavored Oreo was the “Cookies & Creme”. After that it was the “Most Oreo Oreos,” which is the same concept, only with more filling.
The “Loaded Oreo” is the same idea, only with more filling than “Cookies & Creme” and less than “Most Oreo Oreo”.
How much filling is there? It’s equivalent to a Mega Stuf Oreo, or a “Level 4 Oreo” as I like to call it.
What is a Level 4 Oreo? Let me explain my system.
Loaded Oreo | review
I’ve spent 12 years of my career reviewing and studying the intricacies of Oreos, which is a truly absurd statement that I have to self-reflect on.
During this time, I have deduced that there is five different “things”. levels, ranging from “Oreo Thins” to “Most Stuf.” I break them like this.
- Tier 1: Oreo Thins
- Level 2: Oreos
- Level 3: Double Stuf Oreos
- Level 4: Mega Stuf Oreos
- Level 5: Most Stuf Oreos
Here are the five different levels of “Things” you can get for classic flavored Oreos. They are pretty clear about what you are getting. But when you start dealing with other flavors, things can get confusing.
When you get a flavored Oreo, it’s a Level 2/Double Stuf cookie. Those birthday cake Oreos? Peanut Butter Oreos? Peppermint Oreos? They all have the same amount of filling as a Double Stuf Oreo.
You can tell by the serving size on the label. Regular Oreos have 160 calories for three cookies. Double Stuf is 140 calories for two cookies.
The same logic can be applied to Mega Stuf/Level 4 cookies. A Mega Stuf Oreo has 180 calories for two cookies, the same as Oreo Loaded.
Is this information useful for your life, mine or someone else’s? Absolutely not. But just like me, you’re halfway through this stupid article on the internet trying to hide from the scary realities of the world. Things could be worse.
What do they taste like?
They taste like a regular Oreo, but a little less sweet and with more filling.
Here’s more cream. But because the cookie crumbs are mixed into the filling, the sweetness is generally toned down, making the flavor lean more toward darker chocolate vibes.
You can tell the difference if you eat the cream alone, which is nicer here. However, the only people who would try it are maniacs like me who are fine with eating sugary Crisco.
It’s strange that adding more Oreos to an Oreo changes the flavor in one direction. But think of it this way. Let’s say you have buffalo wings with a nice, creamy ranch dressing. Adding Buffalo sauce to the ranch will make the whole experience spicier overall.
So is it good?
Will you make me say it again? yes
It’s a silly marketing ploy that manages to produce another flavor by changing the flavor/cream ratios by 0.5%.
This cookie tastes good. But that doesn’t mean I have to be happy about it.
