Devin Haney has reportedly dropped his lawsuit against Ryan Garcia, and Kingry has agreed to use WADA as a drug testing agency for the rematch. As such, the second fight between the two is now underway. However, it has not been made official yet.
Claim dismissed
Reporter Cynthia Conte broke the news, and Haney posted his reaction, saying Ryan wasn’t a “duck” for agreeing to his terms. The two fighters met with Turki Al-Sheikh last Saturday, presumably to discuss a rematch.
Conte says the condition for Hannay (31-0, 15 KOs) to drop the suit was for Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) to agree to WADA, which he has now done. There’s no word on if, when, or where this fight will take place. Hanney said in an interview last Saturday that his next fight will be at 143 or 144.
Haney, 26, and his father, Bill, really want this fight. They need this match to regain their credibility after Ryan completely destroyed the previously undefeated two-division world champion on April 20th.
Going into the fight, many thought Ryan had lost his mind due to his strange behavior. He acted like he was ready to be taken away Bellvue Mental Hospitaland with his actions he completely deceived everyone. Ryan’s acting was perfect.
When he entered the ring, he immediately staggered Henny with a left hook in the first round and beat him like a drum. In the final four rounds of the fight, Ryan seemed to intentionally let Hani survive so he could continue to beat him senseless. It was hard to watch.
Last April, Ryan upset Hani, defeating him by majority decision in 12 rounds at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Henny was knocked out three times in the fight, once in the 7th, 10th and 11th. The scores were 114-110, 115-109.
Garcia accepts the terms
A very reliable source told me that Devin Haney has officially dropped his lawsuit against Ryan Garcia, if he agrees to do WADA. Garcia agreed to play VADA and the rematch is underway! #boking
