Dmitry Bivol came well prepared for today’s press conference for his rematch with undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev for their rematch next month on February 22 in Riyadh.
Beterbie’s Menacing Look
Former WBA 175-pound champion Biwall (23-1, 12 KOs) had a humorous attitude when asked by the moderator what his message was to Betterbee (21-0, 20 KOs): “I’m not a postman. I’m an athlete.” The line made everyone laugh except Beterby, who gave Buffalo a look that said, ‘You’ll see.’
That look said it all. Bivol will be knocked out unless he runs like he did last time in his 12-round majority loss to Beterbiev on October 12. Bivol couldn’t match Beterby last time out after he started to press him in the sixth. in the sixth
Buffalo tried to stand his ground and staggered. From there he surrendered the ship and went on a long retreat, firing as he ran, holding his ground and showing no readiness to fight. Buffalo fans were disheartened, they believed their hero had won, but they didn’t face the truth.
He lost his nerve and courage when he needed it against Beterbiev. The buffalo looked like it was being chased by an angry wolf in the forest. His eyes were wide with fear, and he did not show his heart. He was a classic example of a fighter who lost his temper and would only survive to avoid humiliation.
Today, at the press conference, Bivol spoke empty words saying that “happiness” has nothing to do with success. This is a common stage in Eastern Europe, but in this case the words were unconvincing because they will not fight harder than last time.
If he does, he’ll probably get knocked out because he lacks the guts, the chin, and the power to stand up to the hungry wolf Beteriev.
Beterbiev won the previous fight by scores of 115-113, 16-112, 114-114
The hunter returns
Dmitry Bivol: “This is a good chance for me.” I know people love the first fight, and they want to see the second fight. I want to make another fight, and I want to be the winner of this fight. What about the belts I could see. I used to want these straps so badly and nothing else. Today I don’t just want belts, I want revenge. I want to fix what I did before. I want to win. It’s not just about the belts,” Bivol said during today’s conference press conference.
“I have to change enough to prove that I’m better, and I have to add more actions.” We’ve already changed a bit with training camp. We added a trainer to our training camp, and now I’m working on myself. Of course, I want to be better. I want to be perfect, and I try to be.”
Artur Beterbiev: “My goal now is to keep the belt and I will do my best to do that.” He has a rematch if he wants it (get revenge). For better enough to win. Enough to win. I don’t know. Maybe because he was lucky that night,” Beterbiev said of why Bivol saw the final bell in their previous fight on Oct. 12.
Bivol: “I don’t believe too much in luck.” I think happiness will come to people who work hard, and I work on it and become happy. Happiness will not come without work. I don’t have any messages. I’m not a postman. I am an athlete. I’ll come to the ring and we’ll talk in action.”
Beterbiev: “Do you mean the postman?” No. I think we will see a good fight on February 22nd. My message is ready. That’s it. Nothing more.”
