Marc Kastelic will miss his second straight game on Tuesday when the Bruins host the team against which he was injured.
The striker missed training on Monday and interim coach Joe Sacco told reporters Kastelic is still considered day-to-daybut he won’t be available against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Kastelic suffered the injury in the last seconds of Boston lost 4-1 to the Lightning last week when he he fought with Emil Lilleberg. The defender crossed Kastelic in the face/neck area before the two dropped their gloves. Kastelic hit the ice hard and was unsteady when he got up.
It is unclear whether Kastelic’s injury occurred due to the cross-check or during the fight. The extent of the injury is also unknown.
Marc McLaughlin replaced Kastelic in Saturday’s overtime win against the Florida Panthers, but the Bruins put the mass native in resignations Sunday and summoned veteran forward Vinni Lettieri from Providence on Monday
Lettieri has been productive in Providence this season with 35 points in as many games. He picked up speed on the third line with Oliver Wahlstrom and Trent Frederic during Monday’s practice.
