Rob Gronkowski reveals what Mike Vrabel’s 1st move should be as Patriots coach

The patriots took the first step in what will likely be a busy offseason Sunday when they officially hired Mike Vrabel as his new coach. New England still has a lot of questions to answer, including what Vrabel’s staff will look like.

If you ask Rob Gronkowski, he thinks he knows who by Vrabel the first call should be a renew the staff.

“If I’m Mike Vrabel, the first thing I’d do is call and dial the number of Josh McDaniels, a familiar face to Patriots fans, and hire him as offensive coordinator as soon as possible.” the former Patriots tight end said during FOX’s pregame coverage on Sunday.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported last week that McDaniels would be a “main candidate” to return to New England if Vrabel was hired. Now that this happened on Sunday, it will certainly be interesting to see how Patriots reshuffle staff.

McDaniels He had two stints with the Patriots and served in several roles, including offensive coordinator. He didn’t have as much luck as a coach between the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders, but his time as OC was successful, including six Super Bowl titles.

Gronkowski is on board with Vrabel is the new coach. After a 4-13 season that led to Jerod Mayo being fired at the end of his first season, Gronkowski believes Vrabel will be a welcome addition to the team.

“The New England Patriots got their man this morning in Patriot great Mike Vrabel. And let me tell you, Patriots fans are thrilled. This guy will hold everyone accountable in the organization, from the coaching staff to to the players”. he said. “He’s going to hold himself accountable, and even in the front office, he’s going to do that. This guy has knowledge, he’s got the power, and he’s going to be great. He knows how to discipline players.
