Andi Cruz Next match: Omar Salcido January 25th

Lightweight contender Andy Cruz fights Omar Salcid this month in a 10-round co-headlining bout on a Matchroom card promoted by Eddie Hearn on January 25 at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Chelsea Ballroom, Las Vegas. Super Middleweight Contest Diego Pacheco will fight Stephen Nelson in the main event.

‘Diamond’ Andy Cruz (4-0, 2 KOs) is being closely followed by Hearn due to his impressive amateur pedigree in Cuba. He won the Olympic gold medal in 2020, defeating American fighter Keeshon Davis. It was Cruz’s fourth win over Davis, and it was effortless.

Salcido (20-1, 14 KOs) is coming off a big ninth-round knockout win over Chris Colbert on October 16 of last year. Colbert was once viewed as a future world champion and super welterweight star. His career went downhill in the previous three years.

Cruz is ranked #4 WBA, #5 WBC and #6 IBF at lightweight. He needs to fight against better opposition often to win the world title soon. None of the top guys want to fight Andy, which is understandable. It’s Hearn’s predictable.

On January 25, Card

Diego Pacheco vs. Stephen Nelson
Andy Cruz vs. Omar Salcido
