When visiting Senegal for the first time, prioritizing Dakar is a no-brainer. But the experiences I had in other areas of Senegal were also unforgettable. In St. Louis, the music scene, museums and colorful architecture are enough to get lost. Across the islands UNESCO World Heritage Site Offering a peaceful escape from the major cities of Sine Salum, walking the vast dunes of Lompoul brought me the greatest peace. Somone’s quiet beaches and sunsets have become the perfect backdrop to strengthen friendships. And, of course, there is Dakar, which has become my second home. The city is compact enough to explore in a short trip but rich enough in experiences to leave you wanting more. This is the magic of Senegal: once you visit, you won’t want to stop coming back.
