One Louisianathe married couple celebrated the end of 2024 with an extraordinary delivery — four daughters.

On November 20, Farrah Larry came in to pick her up caesarean section knowing that he would give birth four healthy girls. What she and her husband Peyton didn’t know was that their babies would come out as two sets of identical twins.

In conversation with PeopleThe 29-year-old mother spoke about the extraordinary birth, which took place just before Thanksgiving.

“I was laughing and crying at the same time,” she recalled, before adding: “My husband was on the verge of passing out.”

The happy couple, who met in college, only found out they were having quadruplets after they announced they were expecting in May 2024. Having conceived their girls naturally, they were stunned to hear Farrah was carrying more than one baby.

According to Journal of Family and Reproductive Healththe odds of conceiving quadruplets without any fertility treatment are high, falling somewhere between 1 in 512,000 or 1 in 677,000, not to mention the extremely rare outcome of having two sets of identical twins.

“It’s clear that God has a plan for these girls because the odds were against us. We just have to trust him” Farrah said.

The new parents initially named the children Baby A, B, C and D, before being named Paisley, Psalm, Lyric and Flyn. Paisley and Psalm are one set of twins, while Lyric and Flyn are the other.

Peyton and Farrah left their nicknames up to fate, choosing each name from a random draw from a brown bag.

“When the baby came out, he’d pull out a name and say, ‘Okay, this is Lyric…,'” Farrah explained.

Each baby came out of the womb weighing about four kilograms. They were placed in the neonatal intensive care unit for several weeks before being allowed to be released from the hospital.

“I sleep maybe three and a half hours a night,” Farrah shared People. “In terms of diapers, we go through seven or eight a day, times four. We go through the packages quickly. The same goes for bottles; they eat about eight times a day.”

In 2023, an Alabama couple witnessed their own miracle, welcoming a quadruplet, two sets of identical twins. The boys — David and Daniel — and girls — Evelyn and Adeline — were carried by Hannah Carmack and delivered by C-section at 27 weeks.
