Imagine you are hosting friends for dinner. How do you want it to go?
It is simple. You begin in the happy, green garden that dominates your farm, wandering through the ripe rows, munching berries, picking strawberries, pumpkin flowers, and budding lettuce leaves in a delicate basket. Then stop by the apiary and collect some fresh honey.
You’ll have nearly seven acres worth of edible flowers on hand to decorate elaborate salads, donuts, and drinks for your guests, all of whom are fabulously rich and famous.
I do not know why I am telling you this, which is so obvious. Your husband is also a prince.
If this is not immediately obvious to everyone – wow, shame on you! – Don’t worry. This week, the trailer was dropped Meghan, Duchess of SussexThe new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, which premieres on January 15. Second NetflixThe series, produced by Duchess, “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming” through “a mix of hands-on practicality and candid conversations with friends, new and old.”
“You’re not in the pursuit of perfection,” Meghan assures us from somewhere inside Nancy Meyers-esque A country kitchen the size of a small boat hangar. “We are in the pursuit of happiness!” Second Elle DecorA Thermador stove and heater on a trailer could set you back anywhere from $12,000 to $16,000.
I see that it looks likequiet luxuryThe Pinterest board comes to life, it’s a symphony of beige: big cakes, big hummus, big focaccia, big personality candles and a variety of flowers. “I see what color gravitates to, and everything comes out of that,” Meghan says, re: flower arrangements.
There are also a few non-beige things: one piece of parsnips lengthwise, toasted goat cheese made to look like ladybugs and raspberries in three layers on top of one cake that Meghan serves to actor Mindy Kaling, who declares it “probably one of the most beautiful moments of my life.” Kaling has been to many Met Galas and Oscar parties, but the Victoria’s Sponge segment is too cute.
There are also more shots of Guy, Meghan’s old dog, which I hope will air for at least three hours straight. There is also a type of beige.
The pizza was not inspired by Meghan and Harry’s $14.6m series estate but a few yards at Montecito, $8m estate of philanthropists Tom and Sherrie Cipolla. Cheaper, more rela- tive and kinder.
Online, reactions to the six … have been mixed.
“OMG. It’s adorable. Just so beautiful. Can’t wait for this,” one commenter wrote in response to a . he wrote Deadline article about the series.
“Who is this show for? It’s targeting a ton of expendable income and time. It just feels tone deaf and pushes the narrative of elite classicism [sic]” wrote another.
“What is this Joan Gaines cosplay?” asked one Reddit user, referring HGTV host and country chick interior decorator.
OMS it is is this a show? It’s a good question. Perhaps it is about the aesthetic wife led to the trade, but not quite ready for the full Ballerina Farm. Maybe it’s a launchpad for American Riviera OrchardMeghan launched her brand Pay and Nut Butter in 2024 and has yet to produce any content or products.
For sure, it’s Netflix, with which Meghan and Prince Harry’s production company, Archewell Productions, has signed. $100m contract. Ah, what a passion for joy!
